Programmer/Analyst I

Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking a permanent full time Programmer/Analyst I to support the Digital Health Support team at our Kelowna Warehouse (Reids) location in Kelowna, B.C.

The Digital Patient Solutions team supports MyHealthPortal operational needs as well as the Digital Health Support Desk (patient-facing support desk for our IH digital & virtual tools).

What will you work on?

The Programmer/Analyst I manages and coordinates changes to online booking tools, supports MyHealthPortal operational & project work as a technical resource, coordinates data audits and metrics, complex MyHealthPortal access requests, investigates privacy & security breaches, chatBOT administration and maintenance, etc.

Some typical duties and responsibilities for this position are:

• Modifying existing application programs by reviewing specifications, coding program changes and making adjustments.
• Gathering information from users to use in designing forms and preparing data flowcharts from existing applications according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Working closely with the senior analyst, team leader, or manager communicates with users to gather information about current system uses.
• Providing input about new system requirements and implementation processes to the senior analyst.
• Collaborating with the senior analyst, team leader, or manager to support the implementation of system changes and providing user support related to clinical and health information software.
• Assisting the senior analyst, team leader, or manager in developing educational training requirements.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience:

Grade 12, graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in computer programming or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
