Position Summary

Permanent full-time Operations Supervisor position is available now at the Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, B.C. This is an MLT Grade VI position, responsible for Microbiology and PCR. If you are a CSMLS certified MLT with a passion for Micro along with recent supervisory experience and leadership capability, then we would love to hear from you!

What will you work on

The Operations Supervisor works in a team based environment and is charged with the supervision of laboratory staff and coordination of daily activities for the designated laboratory site. The Operations Supervisor provides technical guidance to lab staff in conjunction with the Technical Specialists and is responsible for providing mentoring, coaching and facilitating workplace solutions and promoting continuous learning amongst staff. The Operations Supervisor works closely with the Practice Leader and Technical Specialists, to coordinate the implementation of processes and procedures, standards, goals and objectives and ensures consistency within Interior Health and that accreditation and safety standards are maintained.

The KGH Laboratory is our largest and most specialized 24/7 lab and progressive teaching facility. The Lab consists of hundreds of team members who work collaboratively in a variety of disciplines such as: Collections, Accession, Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, Histology, AP and Molecular.

Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Science training program with current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BCSLS and/or CSMLS.
Minimum of five (5) years recent, related experience including three (3) years leadership experience supplemented by completion of approved management course or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
