Position Summary

Bring your leadership skills and love of nursing to the team in Clearwater at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital. In addition to Clearwater, this position provides leadership for Barriere and Blue River in the North Thompson region.

The Program Leader works Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00 and is responsible for the provision of excellence in the delivery of a patient and family centered approach to care within Dr Helmcken Memorial Hospital.

This position administers, oversees and coordinates the delivery of health services for direct patient/client/resident care in accordance with the established mission and goals of Interior Health. As the successful applicant you will provide leadership and supervision to staff, coordinate resources, determine workforce plans, establish work assignments, and monitor activities in order to enable the delivery of quality patient/client/resident care, effective utilization of resources, and overall effectiveness for the designated program/clinical area(s).

You will be required to make selection decisions in hiring new staff, conduct performance reviews, and determine training, orientation and development needs. Facilitating solutions to work problems and issues will be required. This position provides direct patient care as required.

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Advanced preparation in the Emergency specialty area
• Three year’s recent related experience in a management/leadership position, and four years recent clinical experience in Emergency; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid BC Driver’s License.
