What will you work on?
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides: nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team; enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers; demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice; maintains and advances own clinical competence; participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.
This position works rotating day shifts from 07:00 to 17:30 hours.

In Long Term Care you develop relationships with your patients and their families as you work with the same patients each day for an extended period of time. It is up to the nurse to educate, guide and comfort patients and their families during their time in your care.

About this location/unit
McKinney Place Extended Care is a one-storey facility with 75 private, semi-private and four-bed ward rooms with ensuite washrooms. Our resident-centered philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible.

Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
