Position Summary
Our Microbiology department is seeking a flexible and reliable Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their welcoming team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. This is a permanent full time opporutnity. Days of work are rotating and shift times include a variety of day and evening shifts, between the hours of 07:00 and 23:00.
As the Micro MLT, you can expect to work in a team based environment and perform a variety of duties within the microbiology, histology and cytology areas of the Lab such as: routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, including PCR testing, receiving specimens, entering data into the LIS, and validating/reporting test results.
The RIH Lab is a full-service 24/7 facility offering Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histology, Microbiology and point of care testing. The Lab employs a large team of generalists and specialists who work collaboratively with other departments throughout the hospital and other Interior Health sites.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
Previous Microbiology experience would be considered an asset
