Position Summary

Calling all Pharmacy Technicians! This posting encompasses all Pharmacy Technician positions within Interior Health. Interior Health Pharmacy is a regional program serving patients, residents and clients across the southern interior of the province.

The hourly rate of pay is $34.18 per hour.

We currently have permanent, relief and casual positions available. Our permanent and relief positions qualify for relocation support based on original receipts.

Our services include:
• Clinical and Distribution Pharmacy Services
• Acute, Long-Term Care and Community Settings
• Adult ICU, Surgery, Medicine, Renal, Cardiac Surgery, Emergency, Infectious Disease, Neonatal ICU, Pediatrics
• Community Oncology Network Outpatient Pharmacy Services at 9 Locations
• 13 Licensed Hospital Pharmacy Departments

What will you work on?
As a Pharmacy Technician your valued contributions to patient care include checking prescriptions, medication order entry, sterile and non-sterile compounding, drug distribution and inventory management.

What you can expect of the Pharmacy Team at Interior Health…
We have a supportive and engaged multi-disciplinary team. There is great collaboration and teamwork with a service oriented focus. The departments conduct regular quality improvement and safety huddles. There is staff orientation and training along with in-house continuous education.

How will we help you grow?
Interior Health is a teaching organization and provide practicum placements for pharmacy technician students which allow opportunities for staff to gain mentorship experience. Pharmacy Services has a variety of leadership positions for pharmacy technicians including Site Sterile Compounding Coordinators, Pharmacy Technician Supervisors and a Regional Compounding & Distribution Coordinator which allow for room to grow in our organization.

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, and
• Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
