Do you have strong critical thinking and Emergency nursing skills? Are you looking to be part of a strong team in a fast-paced rural setting? If you answered yes, then we have an opportunity for you at the South Okanagan General Hospital (SOGH) in the friendly town of Oliver!
SOGH is an active, rural hospital serving the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos, and surrounding areas that sees an average of 16,000 emergency visits per year. There are 7 Emergency beds and 18 acute care beds which regularly operate at 100% capacity.
Eleven years ago this site was selected to be a pilot site for the implementation of the electronic Meditech charting system and advanced clinicals. SOGH has been a paperless ward, and one of the few who have been able to achieve it in Canada and North America. Nursing and multidisciplinary notes, medication administration, and physicians’ orders are done electronically. Today, SOGH is seen as a leader in this technology.
At SOGH, there is a strong commitment toward staff development and encouraging growth. With a great team environment from nurses to administration to physicians and support staff; everyone works together with a patient-centered care focus.
