Interior Health’s North Hills Care Centre has a permanent, full time opening. This is a community based position that includes Home Health and Seniors Health and Wellness services.

What Will You Work On?
This newly created community position involves assessment and treatment of communication, speech and dysphagia disorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist (S-LP) will work with the Seniors Health and Wellness Team, as well as within Home Health and providing services to rural patients. Services delivery models include face-to-face and virtual care. Some travel may be required to support rural communities. Patient populations include stroke, TBI, dementia, degenerative neurological disorders, respiratory and head and neck cancer.
Days / hours of work: Monday to Friday / 08:00-16: 00 hours.

The Speech-Language Pathologist works directly with clients and their caregivers for the purpose of creating environments that promote optimal communication/swallowing. We create an elevated standard of care working to best practice. Working collaboratively with medical and allied health colleagues results in a rewarding employment. How Will We Help You Grow?
There will be an orientation as well as support from colleagues and the Speech-Language Pathologist Professional Practice Leader. Education is available to support best-practice. Working with a varied patient population in a community setting will foster growth in abilities to work with a variety of patient populations. There are opportunities to interact with S-LP colleagues across Interior Health both through informal and formal means such as participating in the S-LP Professional Practice Council.
Who Are We Looking For?
This position is suitable for an energetic new graduate or an experienced clinician. We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with strong communication skills, who works collaboratively with team members. Important skills include the ability to think critically, be flexible, and have a willingness to learn new skills.
Qualifications
• Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
