East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook is looking for flexible and motivated Medical Lab Assistants to join their Laboratory team.
East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH) is an acute care hospital with 75 beds. The lab is medium in size and performs both in and outpatient services. It is considered a regional referral site for selected testing and there are over 25 Laboratory Technologists and 22 Laboratory Assistants employed in the various departments.
This position is within our Microbiology/Histology/Pathology department. The Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of duties such as receiving and processing specimens for analysis. Other duties may include performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to Laboratory departments and/or outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program
One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Valid BC Driver’s License
Ability to type 25 WPM *please upload a copy/photo of an invigilated typing test dated within the last 48mths. Please note we do not accept self-administered online tests*
