Licensed Practical Nurse | Orthopaedic Technician Training Opportunity

Position Summary

Ashcroft Urgent and Primary Care Clinic has a Licensed Practical Nurse Employee Education Opportunity for the Orthopaedics LPN Speciality Program funded through Okanagan College. If you are an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse and would like to move into orthopaedics but do not have formal education, we would love to consider you for paid in-house training. This training would require an 18-month return of service commitment.

The program has two (2) components:
• Online Theory Modules: Four distance online theory modules completed on your own time (part-time)
o ORTH 110 – Orthopaedic Anatomy & Physiology
o ORTH 111 – Orthopaedic Pathophysiology & Nursing Interventions
o ORTH 112 – Orthopaedic Specialty Skills
o ORTH 113 – Practicum Preparation
• Clinical Practicum Hours: ORTH 114 – Clinical Practicum Course (260 hours, full-time; approximately 7 weeks)

Qualifications

Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Current CPR certification required.
