Effective April 1, 2022, hourly rates of pay: $37.84 to $46.95
Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) has a permanent full time opening in Occupational Rehab (OR) 2 Services.
The OR 2 Program provides WorkSafe BC clients with a multidisciplinary team approach that focuses on maximizing function and tolerance before re-entering the workforce after a period of inactivity. Job simulation, body mechanics, education seminars, biodex testing, aquatherapy, job site visits and gradual-return-to-work planning are all included within the program. This challenging position involves working with Occupational Rehab WorkSafe BC clients with emphasis on chronic pain, disability and return to work.
This position also involves some work in the Acute Care areas of KGH, covering acute orthopedics, surgery, ED, stroke, etc. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, with the occasional weekend work required.
We will provide you with an orientation customized to meet your needs, and immediate support and access from excellent colleagues and the Occupational Therapy Professional Practice Leader. During your career working in the tertiary acute care setting you will grow in abilities as you get exposed to every diagnosis. Library Services to support patient care, education and research are available. Educational opportunities, such as iLearns, in-house services, project assignments, etc.
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who works well within the team with experience and certification (e.g. Matheson) in the area of occupational rehab. Able to work independently with good people and communication skills. Ability to coach and educate clients. Willing to learn new skills.

Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
