Building Operations Assistant

Position Summary

The Community Health & Services Centre (CHSC) in Kelowna, BC is looking for a Relief Full Time Building Operations Clerk to join their team! Apply today!

• Your High School Diploma;
• A current Typing Test 45 wpm or greater completed within past 48 months from a recognized institution, (non-supervised tests are not accepted);
• A current valid BC Driver’s License;
• Your Resume indicating one year’s recent related experience;
• A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work (i.e. days of the week);

This position performs a variety of clerical and reception duties such as:

• Reception duties: smooth flow of traffic through the building, receives, screens and directs visitors, responds to general inquiries, maintains up-to-date staff contact directories, handles shilliping materials, distributes incoming mail, couriers, faxes and out-going mail;
• Receives, transfers and directs telephone calls to appropriate personnel/departments;
• Assists with keeping the site secure and accessible;
• Administrative support duties; maintains a perpetual inventory of general office supplies for the building, Places pre-approved building operations purchase orders and requisitions for capital and minor equipment, books meeting rooms and maintains meeting room schedules, operates electronic equipment such as photocopiers, scanners and fax machines;
• Liaises with staff, visitors and others to ensure that technical systems and equipment are available for CHSC offices, meeting rooms and workspaces;
• May be required to pick up and/or drop off fleet vehicles to designated shops or dealerships for maintenance and/or repair;
• Performs other related duties as required.

Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 08:00 to 16:00

Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 12, Plus
• One year’s recent related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Completion of a Typing Test 45 wpm or greater, dated within the past 48 months and must be issued from a valid institution only. (non-supervised tests are not accepted)
• Valid BC Driver’s License

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
