Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a casual Long-Term Care Nurse at Fischer Place/Millsite Lodge in 100 Mile House, BC.
Mill Site Lodge and Fischer Place, located in 100 Mile House, embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. Ultimately, access to residential care is based on a person’s assessed need and risk. Residential Care is for adults with complex health care needs requiring 24-hour professional care due to physical disability or mental or behavioural conditions, including brain injuries or dementia.
This facility has 79 private rooms, all equipped with ceiling lifts, and five short-stay beds, including one palliative care suite. Our grounds offer beautiful courtyards and patios, and wildlife can often be viewed in the woods next to us.
During summer this beautiful area is fantastic for hiking, canoeing, boating and fishing. Winter brings backcountry skiing, as well as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding and sleigh rides.
The Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN or RPN ensures the delivery of resident–centered care by assisting individual residents and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN or RPN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Shift types for this position are days and evenings; 07:00 to 19:00.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
