Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) has a relief, full time opening in Endoscopic Nursing.
RIH’s GL Lab Endoscopy includes sigmoidoscopy, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy. The GI service is a very busy one with four procedure rooms running 5 days per week (Monday to Friday). We have Gastroenterologists and General Surgeons all of which scope. Registered Nurses are expected to work in Preparation and Recovery areas in addition to treatment rooms. An Endoscopy Resource Nurse, Educator, and Patient Care Coordinator are available to support training and learning. Orientation is 6 weeks and includes the areas of: Prep, Recovery, and Treatment Rooms.
This position will provide coverage until November 2022, or return of incumbent. Shifts fall within a Monday to Friday Day schedule. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits plan that includes coverage for basic Medical Services, Dental Services, and Extended Health. Relocation Allowance package may be offered to the eligible candidate.
We provide on-the-job training for registered nurses who have interest in Endoscopy.

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• GI Endoscopy Certification and/or 2 years of clinical experience is an asset.
