Kelowna General Hospital currently has a relief full time opportunity on our Cardiac surgical unit 2W. This relief is until October 21, 2022 or return of the incumbent.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good availability and good people and communication skills.
What will you work on?
As a member of our surgical nursing team you will work collaboratively to provide pre and post-surgical care nursing care for cardiac surgery patients. The Registered Nurse practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs.
Nursing shifts are 12 hours rotating days and night, 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Successful completion of a recognized Basic Cardiac Course (which includes telemetry) within the last six (6) months or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
BCLS within 3 years Previous experience in a cardiac surgical unit would be preferred.
Positions at the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre (KGH) will also be required to successfully complete the Cardiac Surgery Basic Theory Course
