We are looking for a Relief Part Time (0.73 FTE) team member, this relief is until February 5, 2024 or the return of the incumbent.
What Will You Work On?
This position is for a Social Worker in the Emergency Department for evening and weekend shifts. The Social Worker will assess and provide interventions for mental health, substance use and social challenges. This position works closely with the Emergency Department team and also works autonomously. This is a rotating schedule and STAT holidays are worked.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct psychosocial care, counseling, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management. As the Social Worker you will be responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the identified population.
Shift types are days and evenings and shift times are from 13:00 to 21:00, 08:00 to 20:00 hours.

Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
Current valid BC driver’s license.
