Position Summary

Interior Health currently has casual opportunities available for a Registered Nurse at 100 Mile District General Hospital in B.C.

The Registered Nurse practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Registered Nurses rotate through all acute care areas and must be versatile with a great breadth in their nursing skills. OMH offers a rural hospital where you can practice and develop your skill advanced skills in many areas.

Shift types are days and nights and shift times are from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

We provide you with an orientation customized to meet your needs, and immediate support and access from excellent colleagues. You will have access to work in an interdisciplinary environment where patients are at the centre of care. We also offer continuous education opportunities.

OMH (100 Mile hospital) is a 16 bed rural hospital, centrally located right in downtown 100 Mile House. It is surrounded by a vast about outdoor activity including lakes, hikes, biking and dirt bike trails, snow shoeing, downhill skiing skating rink. OMH offers Emergency, ACU/Chemo, Cysto and an acute care services in a very busy setting. We receive approximately 13,000 ER patients per year and consistently maintaining a high occupancy rate with a pediatric population of 1300 to 1500 patients annually in our ER.

100 Mile House is a vibrant and close knit community in the heart of the Cariboo, located 5 hours north of Vancouver and only 2 hours from Kamloops by car. The area boasts over 100km of cross country ski trails, Mount Timothy downhill ski area, a new hockey arena, numerous hiking/biking trails and hundreds of lakes – something for every adventurer!

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
