Position Summary

The Capital Accounting Department at Kelowna General Hospital is looking for a Permanent Full Time Capital Accounting Assistant.....Apply today!

• Proof of Completion of 2 years of a recognized Accounting Program;
• Your Resume indicating four years’ recent related experience;

The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

• Prepares period-end and year-end working papers and supporting schedules;
• Prepares capital construction/grant claims for Manager’s signature and submission to the applicable funding agency;
• Prepares, maintains and reconciles tracking reports;
• Reviews and analyzes reports;
• Maintains the fixed asset module and the accounting for depreciation;
• Prepares Journal Entries;
• Prepares committed costs reports for project managers;
• Analyzes accounts by reviewing, extracting and interpreting information; designs spreadsheets and graphs;
• Prepares external reports such as annual Statistics Canada Capital Expenditure summaries, Appendix C and Quarterly Public Financial Reports;
• Recommends changes to accounting procedures;
• Performs other related accounting duties.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 16:00 hours

Education, Training and Experience:
• Grade 12,
• Completion of two years of a recognized accounting program,
• 4 year’s recent related experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to supervise
