This is an integrated position that works 0.5FTE as a Rehabilitation Assistant each morning and 0.5FTE as a Recreation Coordinator in the afternoons. This is a permanent full time position working day shifts on Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00.
Rehabilitation Assistant, Pay Grid 25 - $27.02 per hour
In accordance with the vision and values of the organization and under the clinical direction of a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist, the Rehabilitation Assistant functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the client. The Rehabilitation Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists the therapist in monitoring and evaluating patients/residents’ progression.
Program Coordinator I (Recreation), Pay Grid 27 - $27.84 per hour
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization and as a member of the multidisciplinary team, this position plans, develops, implements and evaluates a variety of recreational/leisure programs designed to support residents’/clients’ health and well being in Long-term care, acute and/or adult day program settings. In accordance with facility/site requirements supervises designated staff, students and volunteers.

• Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License as required.
• Skills and Abilities:
o Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
o Ability to deal with others effectively.
o Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
o Ability to organize work.
o Ability to operate related equipment.

• Graduation from a recognized recreational program plus one years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• An appropriate, valid Class IV vehicle license as required.
• Skills and Abilities:
o Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
o Ability to organize work
o Ability to supervise
o Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
o Ability to deal with others effectively
o Ability to operate related equipment
