Position Summary
Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is seeking casual Diagnostic Mammography Technologists to join the Medical Imaging Department.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Work will be available on a short-notice, on-call bases and/or blocks of shifts pre-scheduled to relieve leaves of absences. What Will You Work On?
The Medical Radiation Technologist performs Mammographic and related duties working in conjunction with radiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.
Vernon Jubilee Hospital Diagnostic Imaging has a strong team approach with opportunities for on-going education and career growth. We are a teaching facility with students in all modalities. Our Mammography department has been filmless since January 2015 utilizing a single Hologic Dimensions DR with a McKesson PACS system.

Many nearby communities rely on our site for imaging resulting in a very busy and diverse atmosphere. The successful applicant will be providing Mammographic services to inpatients and outpatients, making a difference within many communities.
How Will We Help You Grow?
We have an excellent team, including five Radiologists on site. All of our Interior Health sites are connected through our regional PACS System (Picture Archive and Communication System) and integrated into our single Electronic Health Records, providing real-time patient histories anywhere within Interior Health. We have clinical advisory groups that are working together to ensure best practice throughout Interior Health.

We are looking for a fast learner who has the ability to prioritize and work well within a team environment. The successful applicant will need to have to have critical care thinking, be flexible and have excellent communication.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Radiography Technology Diploma program and post graduate education in Mammography.
• Two years’ experience as a Radiology Technologist with demonstrated experience in all aspects of mammography.
• Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
• Breast Imaging Certification (BIC) or equivalent education and experience as deemed by the facility.
