Intermediate Software Developer

Position Summary

Interior Health is currently seeking a project position full time Intermediate Software Developer to join our Robotics Process Automation team at the Community Health & Services Centre in Kelowna, B.C. This project position is until October 31, 2023.

What will you work on?

This position will develop RPA solutions across the organization through understanding the processes involved and developing (code and test) and deploying UiPath robots. Strong knowledge in Software Development Lifecycle and Methodology is required. Background in Laboratory processes, combined with Programming experience, is preferred.

The Intermediate Software Developer performs a variety of duties to ensure the provision of effective maintenance and support of information system projects throughout Interior Health according to established policies, procedures and standards.

Some Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conducts feasibility studies by determining user requirements; provides details of implementation estimates and recommendations.
2. Undertakes system development projects from preliminary analysis to post implementation review by:
a) Gathering detailed information from users
b) Developing and documenting systems and procedures
c) Detailing hardware and software specifications
d) Preparing detailed implementation plans
3. Provides input in the evaluation of client, server and system software as a member of the project team.
4. Designs, writes and maintains custom software to meet specific application needs.
5. Designs, writes and maintains custom programs and routines for software applications using programming languages and standards such as C#, SQL, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, CSS and XML.
6. Maintains and administers infrastructure required to host web applications.
7. Plans, implements and evaluates educational training requirements and provides related training to meet the learning needs of users within the assigned business service areas/departments with respect to (a) education of new users and (b) the continuing education of users regarding items such as system upgrades and new technology.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

• Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science
• Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
