If you have a love for Social Work, we have a career opportunity that will allow you to draw on your clinical skills as you provide service in an acute care setting at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, B.C. We are looking for a Permanent Part Time team member to work a rotating schedule (including weekends and holidays if rotation requires) from 13:00 to 21:00, 08:00 to 20:00 for a total of 19.5 hours per week.
What Will You Work On?
In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, you will provide direct psychosocial care, counseling, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self-management.
As the Social Worker you will be responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the identified population.
This position works as a Social Worker as part of the Emergency Department team. The Social Worker is asked to assess patients for mental health, substance use and social needs. As well, the Social Worker supports individuals and families experiencing crisis events.

-Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
-Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
-Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
-Current valid BC driver’s license.
