Position Summary

Interior Health’s West Kelowna Primary Care Centre invites applications from Physiotherapists with interest in a primary care team.

We are looking for a knowledgeable Physiotherapist with experience in developing client evidence-based, outcome-focused intervention strategies consistent with the clients’ needs and goals that achieve optimal health outcomes. This is a permanent, full time role that will be working within the West Kelowna Primary Care Network Hub. Shifts are four on/four off, extended hours 09.30 to 21:00 hours weekdays in the Urgent Patient Care Centre (UPCC) and then Primary Care Network, and 11:00 to 21:00 hours weekends in the UPCC.

As a member of the West Kelowna multidisciplinary primary care team, you will work independently and collaboratively providing physiotherapy services that include assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of clients and/or their caregivers. Reporting to the Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead you will draw upon your ability to identify client and therapist expectations and the client’s desired functional status and quality of life; administer standardized tests and measures; promote functional independence; and enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.

West Kelowna Primary Care serves a growing population in West Kelowna. Team members work closely together to meet the patients’ needs. The Primary Care Network aspect of the position serves those patients who have complex needs while the Urgent Primary Care patients are more acute, emergent requiring Physiotherapy assessments and interventions. A broad scope of patients are seen and this will provide an opportunity for you to gain or use your clinical skills and expertise in acute & chronic injuries.

This position is suitable for a seasoned therapist. We are seeking a Physiotherapist who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good people and communication skills. Ability to coach and educate clients. Willing to learn new skills.
