Position Summary

Effective April 1, 2022, hourly rates of pay: $37.84 to $46.95

Interior Health Physiotherapists work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing physiotherapy services and in guiding work direction to rehabilitation assistant(s). We have a casual community position, work hours available weekdays.

Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 13% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.

What Will You Work On?
The Physiotherapist will be based out of the Penticton Health Unit and/or Summerland Health unit. The community therapist will be working with complex medical and frail clients, all age groups, clients that are home bound or have functional concerns that are home based. Work will take place in the communities of Penticton, Summerland, Naramata, OK Falls and the immediate surrounding areas.

Enjoy rewarding work that creates immediate and lasting impact to frail and complex clients while working with a dynamic and supportive team that includes other community physios, practice lead, OT and rehab assistants. Community physios are an important part of the discharge planning process out of acute care and are often the link and advocate for clients and families transitioning from independent living to assisted or long term care living.

How Will We Help You Grow?
Orientation includes dedicated time for online learning of IHA processes, 1:1 time with the practice lead, job shadowing of all team members and other orientation or experiential opportunities identified by the employee.

We are seeking a Physiotherapist that is an engaged self-starter. The successful applicant should be a life long learner with good communication skills that respects our indigenous partners and enjoys a small town atmosphere. The South Okanagan is an outdoor adventurers dream with easy access to hiking, camping, multiple lakes, ski hills, as well as a vibrant winery and craft brewery scene.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC).
• Valid BC Driver’s license
