Registered Nurse (RN/RPN) | Long-term Care

Position Summary

We are currently seeking casual Long Term Care Nurses, Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our team at Cottonwoods Care Centre in Kelowna, BC.

What will you work on?
The RN or RPN practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN or RPN ensures the delivery of individual–centered care by assisting individual individuals and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN or RPN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Shift types for this position are days, evenings and nights and shifts times are from 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00, 23:00 to 07:00

Cottonwoods Care Centre embodies an individual-centered philosophy designed to support individuals’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible.
The Aberdeen Unit has 60 Short Stay beds including 1 respite bed. Bridgeway is our special populations unit comprised of 27 beds - typical clients are younger adults. The Cadder Court and Driftwood Units have 42 beds respectively. The Ethel Glen Unit is a secured dementia unit with 42 beds including one respite bed. The building also houses our Gerontology Centre, where geriatric clients are referred for consultation with an interdisciplinary team including our in-house geriatrician.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Post - basic education in gerontology an asset.
