Interior Health is currently hiring casual Mental Health and Substance Use, RN/RPN to join our amazing Mental Health (Elderly) team in beautiful and sunny Penticton, B.C.

We are looking for a nurse with sound clinical skills, experience with seniors’ mental health and someone who enjoys working in a team environment.
Who are we looking for?
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse – Seniors Mental Health will provide a broad case management function and care for seniors that have a mental health and substance issues. The nurse is involved in monitoring the client, assessing their mental status, putting appropriate resources and supports in place, working with the family and coordinating care. The nurse works with the GP, psychiatrist and team of support workers linking in with home support services or residential care as appropriate.
Further duties may include assisting the client with attending their housing, the management of their finances and home as well as insuring they’re getting adequate nutrition and managing their medications. Provides specialized assessments, treatment, case management, and community support as well as caregiver support to individuals who are experiencing or may be vulnerable due to complex mental health and substance use disorders and issues related to aging, including dementia with associated psychiatric or behavioural problems.
Shifts of work are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 hours.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
Two years’ recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (such as Counselling & Treatment Services; Treatment, Support & Recovery Services; Crisis Response; Seniors MHSU Services; Substance Use; Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS), etc.) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
