Rehabilitation Assistant | Convalescent Rehab

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to join our cohesive team and have a relief part-time opening within the short stay convalescent rehab department.

Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) is a referral centre for three community hospitals and one diagnostic centre in the South Okanagan. We have an operating capacity of 129 acute beds and offer a full range of services. The Rehabilitation Assistant is a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in meeting the needs of the residents. The Rehabilitation Assistant carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs and assists therapists in monitoring and evaluating residents’ progression. In addition to supporting therapy with the short stay and long term care clients there is a small amount of outreach involved in this role.

Shifts are Tuesdays to Saturdays 07:30 to 11:30 pm. This is a temporary position to provide relief until return of incumbent. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. When the employee occupies the position for 6 months or longer, entitlement to the reimbursement for benefits and enrollment in the benefit plan will be at the expense of the employer.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized, two-year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
