Position Summary

Boundary Health Center in Grand Forks, B.C. is looking for a casual Rural and Remote Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician to join their team!

The Rural and Remote Adult Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, whose purpose is to ensure that adults and elderly persons with serious mental disorders and/or substance use problems and co-occurring impairment in personal, family, financial, occupational and/or social life, have access to responsive, sensitive and relevant assessment and treatment services.

The primary duties include, at the advanced practice level, intake assessment, crisis intervention, referral, case management, short term individual and group psychotherapy, psychogeriatric support, collaborative community planning, psycho-education with clients and their families, and liaison with appropriate professionals. Duties include urgent response intervention to individuals in acute crisis, consultation with other care providers, and the coordination of services for adults and elderly with mental health and/or substance use problems.

Shift days are Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30. Please note this is a casual position which means hours of work are not guaranteed. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

Two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid BC driver’s license.
