A Rehabilitation Assistant takes clinical direction from our Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist and carries out rehabilitative treatment plans and programs. Functioning as a member of the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of the residents and assisting the therapists in monitoring and evaluating residents’ progression.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
What will you work on?
Kimberley Special Care Home operates embodies a resident-centred approach designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. As the Rehabilitation Assistant you will be doing exercise programs, equipment maintenance, assisting with mobility when appropriate, and assisting with wheel chair cushions and pressure relief mattresses. You will assist with care and some ADLs such as assisting with dressing and getting ready for breakfast.
How will you create impact?
You will contribute to the multidisciplinary team by helping residents maintain their quality of life and dignity. Being the one Rehabilitation Assistant at the worksite you will contribute a specialized body of knowledge in supporting residents’ mobility.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a healthcare professional who is a self-starter with ability to work independently and recognizes their scope of practice. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are an asset. The successful candidate will have completed a two year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma.
