Rehabilitation Assistant | Casual

Position Summary

We are seeking Rehabilitation Assistants to join our cohesive Rehabilitation team. Shifts are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00 hours. Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.

What Will You Work On?
You will be part of a team of clinicians working across the spectrum in Acute Care (i.e. South Okanagan General Hospital) and Long Term Care facilities of McKinney Place and Sunnybank Centre. Seeing clients in acute care to assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to get clients up and going in the morning, practicing ADL’s, working on UE and cognitive work, doing exercises, practicing mobility as well as supporting feeding and communication treatments to maximize a person’s independence to hopefully be able to go home.

How Will You Create Impact?
You will form an integral part of the rehabilitation team and greatly enhance the amount of hands on time that clients receive to expedite their rehab and regain as much independence as possible.

How Will We Help You Grow?
All new staff are assigned mandatory learning through our online system. A robust orientation 3 to 5 days including introduction to therapists. In-services for education and skill development. All staff are mentored by those on their team and have available support through their Professional Practice Leader. As well as the larger Rehabilitation team.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for new Casual team members who are willing to be flexible and have great people skills. Positive, initiative takers, and brings enthusiasm and energy to their work. Availability is important as Casual positions can and do work up to full time hours.


• Completion of a recognized, two-year Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program.
• Valid Driver’s License as required.
