Position Summary
Effective April 1, 2022, hourly rates of pay: $37.84 to $46.95
Join Interior Health’s Central Okanagan Team to work within a tertiary acute care hospital environment and/or within several Long-Term Care facilities.
We are seeking to add to the Causal Pool at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) and are accepting applications from interested Occupational Therapists. Shifts will be scheduled on a rotating basis where hours are 08:00 to 16:00. Full time Casual hours to be had!
What Will You Work On?
KGH and the Central Okanagan offers many diverse areas of practice: acute medical care, acute surgical care, large outpatients programs, large inpatient rehab programs, long-term rehab care, community care rehab, and urgent primary care centres.
This is opportunity to contribute to the organization and the overall goals of the department and provide work direction to the rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.
How Will You Create Impact?
Apart from regular Occupational Therapy interventions and assessments, the skill of dysphagia assessment is required. Knowledge of equipment is paramount; wheelchair assessments, power mobility assessments, fall prevention. Quality of life lens essential in this area.
How Will We Help You Grow?
Mentorship processes and informal supports with more experienced Occupational Therapists on the team. Significant time for orientation to the role and team. Opportunity for informal learning, e.g. in-services. Working up to full time hours and opportunities to apply internally for new Occupational Therapist openings.
Who Are We Looking For?
Flexibility and availability to accept shifts is a requirement of the position; ability to work weekends. Local travel is required within this role in the surrounding area. Access to personal vehicle may be required.
Qualifications
• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
