We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) team at the Lansdowne Centre in Kamloops.
We are seeking a casual to work in all MHSU areas including Long Term Support, Intake, Elderly Service, Adult Short Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT) and Intensive Case Management (ICM).
As the MHSU Nurse, you will ensure that persons with serious severe and persistent mental health problems and/or problematic substance use who may or may not be in crisis have access to timely, responsive, evidence-based treatment. You will provide assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and as required, urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. Functioning as the primary clinician, you will utilize a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.
Shifts of work are of a casual nature and may be scheduled for days and evenings. Shift times are from8:30 to 16:30 Monday To Friday.

Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
Two years’ of recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (such as Adult Short Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT), Adult Community Support Services (ACSS), Urgent Response, Elderly Services, Alcohol & Drug) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC).
Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
**Case management experience is an asset.
**Knowledge of substance use is preferred.
