Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) invites applications from Perioperative Certified Registered Nurses for Casual employment opportunities.
What Will You Work On?
PRH is a 155 bed Acute Care facility responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to surrounding population of approximately 90,000 people. PRH currently operates five operating rooms and a urology procedure room to provide services for urology, ENT, general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, chronic pain and uncomplicated pediatric cases over 2 years. There are two ORs at the Summerland Health Centre where services are provided including pediatric dental. Staffing complement consists of a Patient Care Coordinator, Clinical Educator, RNs, LPNs, Anesthetic Assistants, Perioperative Aides, and Unit Clerks.
How Will You Create Impact?
As a member of the PRH Operating Room leadership team, you will apply nursing theory, advanced knowledge and leadership concepts in providing clinical guidance and resource support to staff and lead in the delivery of nursing education and instruction based on adult education principles and philosophy within the Perioperative clinical specialty.
How Will We Help You Grow?
Provide you with an extensive orientation to each of the surgical services, including general hospital orientation. A Clinical Nurse Educator is available to support practice. Weekly in-services are offered. Library Services to support patient care, education and research are available.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking RNs with Perioperative advanced specialty education, who are reliable and team players.
Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (perioperative nursing) and one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
