Occupational Therapist

Position Summary

Effective April 1, 2022, hourly rates of pay: $37.84 to $46.95

Interior Health Occupational Therapists works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing occupational therapy services and guides the work direction of Rehabilitation Assistants.

We are seeking to add to the Causal Pool at Penticton Health Centre and are accepting applications from interested Occupational Therapists. Shifts will be scheduled on a rotating basis where hours are 08:00 to 16:00.

What Will You Work On?
Member of the Community Rehab and Quick Response Team of Physiotherapists and Rehab Assistants. Time limited service (i.e. interventions) to adults with physical disability. Home Health Occupational Therapy coverage in the Penticton area. Could cover rural sites of Keremeos and Princeton too.

How Will You Create Impact?
Providing Home Health support for adults to stay in homes as long as they wish. And supporting patients with discharges from hospital safely.

How Will We Help You Grow?
Mentorship processes and informal supports with more experienced Occupational Therapists on the team. Significant time for orientation to the role and team. Opportunity for informal learning, e.g. in services. Opportunities to apply internally for new Occupational Therapist openings. If flexible, an Occupational Therapist would be working three days of week or more.

Who Are We Looking For?
Occupational Therapists who can work autonomously and reach out or support when needed. Ability to organize time and prioritize work appropriately. Availability of at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
