Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Rural Adult Mental Health & Substance Use Clinician to join the Child & Youth Mental Health Substance Use (MHSU) team for a permanent full time position based at the Williams Lake Mental Health Centre in beautiful Williams Lake, B.C.

What will you work on?

This position is for a Child & Youth Mental Health counsellor/clinician will be providing culturally appropriate services to clients within the Northern Secwepemc First Nation communities, engaging with appropriate culturally sensitive resources, providing culturally appropriate client assessments, preparing reports as required and recommending action plans to the Professional Practice Leader and Health Leads within the Northern Secwepemc communities, clinical counselling is a priority.

The Substance Use Clinician provides, at the advanced practice level, assessment, treatment, service coordination and, as required, urgent response to the most complex clients, frequently with co-occurring disorders, who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Substance Use Clinician functions as a primary clinician utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.

Scheduling Information:

Shifts of work will be Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30 with weekends and statutory holidays off.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in an Allied Health, Behavioural, or Social Science field relevant to the position.

Two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and substance use environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current valid BC driver’s license.

Effective April 1, 2024, the pay scale for this position is $42.27 to $52.81
