Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) opportunity now available at the Kootenay Lake Hospital in beautiful Nelson, B.C.! This is a permanent 0.6fte position. Days of work are rotating and shift times are days and evenings.
As the MLT you will work independently within our supportive and cohesive team environment, providing vital Lab services to both inpatients and outpatients from the Nelson community and surrounding areas. This is a generalist MLT position and offers interesting and varied work in the Core Lab.
Typical duties include: routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.

Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
One (1) year recent related experience.
