We are presently seeking a new casual team member to join our Recreation Therapy Department at Hardy View Lodge in Grand Forks, B.C.
Working within a client centered model, the Recreation Therapy Worker works as a member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of an established Recreation Therapy Program.
As the Recreation Therapy Worker you will be primarily working with geriatric residents and short stay clients. This position plans programs and assists in getting residents to/from their programs. Staff go on outings with the residents, facilitate groups specific to the needs of the residents (i.e. social, physical, spiritual, etc.), and one-to-one programs.
Hardy View Lodge, located in Grand Forks at Boundary Hospital, embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible.
This facility is an 80 bed facility with five cottage style units. 60 beds are all individual with showers in the bathroom area. The 20 bed unit has two semi private rooms and the remaining 16 rooms are private.
Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absences; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position.
Hours of work: Rotating Days 8:30 to 17:00, 0:900 to 17:00
A strong candidate will have completed a Certificate from a recognized recreation program and hold a Class IV BC Driver’s License (or in the process of being licensed). There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual on-call positions and lead to regular employment

Grade 12, completion of a recognized recreation course(s) plus two year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid class 4 vehicle license as required.

• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
