NURSE PRACTITIONER - RURAL CARIBOO (100 MILE HOUSE)

Position Summary

A Primary Care Nurse Practitioner opportunity is available targeting services including mental health and substance use, chronic disease management, reproductive health, health prevention and promotion, and education.

Specifically, the Nurse Practitioner, Cariboo Rural, will have a focus on Aboriginal people of the Northern Secwepemc and provide full scope primary health care services, virtually and in person, to individuals:

• Served by the Three Corners Health Society. This includes members of the Williams Lake Indian Band, Soda Creek Indian Band, and Canoe Creek and Dog Creek Indian Bands.
• Residents in the outlying First Nations communities of Esk-etemec (located in Alkali Lake, BC; approximately 50 km east of Williams Lake) and Canim Lake (approximately 30 km east of 100 Mile House, BC). Travel is involved to Esk-etemec and Canim Lake.

The NPs will collaborate with various community agencies, surrounding aboriginal communities, and multidisciplinary health services in the delivery of comprehensive, holistic patient centered health care that is delivered in a culturally safe manner. The communities vary in size and on-site health care staff.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner who ideally has some experience working in First Nations communities; brings great leadership, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills; and is an effective team member. Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience:
• Current registration and exam-qualified as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
• Recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
