Interior Health’s Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is seeking to build its Casual Physiotherapy Pool and is accepting applications from interested Physiotherapists.
RIH is a 258-bed facility that serves as the tertiary referral centre for approximately 250,000 people within the City of Kamloops and outlying rural areas. We have an Acute Physiotherapy Team with a team approach to care that is based within RIH’s Rehab Department consisting of Physiatry, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology and Orthotics. As a tertiary referral hospital, RIH is a no refusal centre with an Emergency Department that receives over 250 major trauma and 72,000 visits per year.
In this position the Physiotherapist will have varied work duties, as per operational requirements. RIH Physiotherapists work in many areas of the hospital: Emergency, Critical Care/ICU, General Surgery, Daycare Surgery, Acute Medicine, Tertiary Rehab, Neuro Rehab, Ortho, Outpatient follow up and a little bit of Pediatrics. A broad scope of patients are seen. Rehabilitation Assistants employed to support you in the position.
Shifts will be scheduled during the Day and includes rotating weekend shifts. Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.
