Position Summary
Effective April 1, 2022, hourly rates of pay: $37.06 to $46.15
If you are a Speech-Language Pathologist with strong clinical best practices and enjoy teaching to others we would love to hear from you for a Casual opening. Casual employment means work requirements will vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. As a Casual employee you will receive 13% of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans. We are seeking a candidate with Monday to Friday availability.
What Will You Work On?
Speech-language pathologists at Royal Inland Hospital provide assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing problems resulting from stroke, head injuries, dementia, degenerative disorders, respiratory issues and other medical complications. Patients may be seen in an inpatient or outpatient setting. There is an expectation to be competent in dysphagia management including clinical bedside swallowing assessments and modified barium swallow studies.

Speech-Language Pathologist works directly with clients and their caregivers for the purpose of creating environments that promote optimal communication/swallowing. Provide you with a thorough orientation to meet your needs and immediate support and access from excellent colleagues and the Speech-Language Pathologist Professional Practice Leader. During your Speech-Language Pathologist career working in the tertiary acute care setting you will grow in abilities as you work with a variety of patient populations. Library Services to support patient care, education and research are available.

This position is suitable for a new grad or a seasoned therapist. We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good people and communication skills. Qualifications
• Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
• Experience with Dysphagia Management and communication disorders would be an asset.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.
