Position Summary
We are hiring for casual MLTs to join the Core Lab at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.

The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is one of Interior Health Authorities tertiary referral hospitals and the Lab at RIH is one of our largest and most interesting. This is a full-service Laboratory offering Chemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology and Point of Care testing. The Lab employs a very large team of generalist and specialist Technologists who deliver both inpatient and outpatient Lab services utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our professional Lab team, work collaboratively with other departments throughout the hospital and other Interior Health sites.
Typical Laboratory Technologist duties include routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.
This is a casual position which means that hours are not guaranteed and may vary. There may be opportunity to bid for additional shifts in other areas of the Lab or at other Interior Health Lab sites in addition to access to internally listed temporary and permanent positions.

Qualifications
• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
• Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
• One (1) year recent related experience
