Interior Health is seeking dynamic permanent full and/or part time Nurse Practitioners to join our team providing health care to seven communities in the Chilcotin region in a joint practice. A total of 1.9 FTE of Nurse Practitioner services is being sought, and successful candidates will have the unique opportunity to select their desired fte.
The Nurse Practitioners for the Chilcotin region will together provide full-scope primary health care services. This practice has a focus on Aboriginal populations as five of the communities are part of the Tsilhqot’in Nation – Tl’esqox/Toosey, Yunesit’in/Stone, Xeni Gwet’in/Nemiah, Tl’etinqox/Anaham and Yunesit’in/Stone – as well as the two communities of Alexis Creek and Tatla Lake. The practice will be shared between two or more Nurse Practitioners, providing virtual care (telephone, Zoom) as well as in-person clinics in each community with room for significant schedule flexibility.
The NPs will collaborate with various community agencies, surrounding aboriginal communities, and multidisciplinary health services in the delivery of comprehensive, holistic patient centered health care that is delivered in a culturally safe manner. The communities vary in size and on-site health care staff. The Chilcotin is rich and vibrant in both ranching and aboriginal history, with strong cultural influences. There is access to a wide variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, skiing, fishing and other water activities.
