Position Summary

Royal Inland Hospital is presently recruiting for a “CASUAL” Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in providing relief coverage and short notice on-call availability. Successful candidates will have current licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.

Located in Kamloops is the Royal Inland Hospital, a 239 Acute bed hospital and one of Interior Health’s two Tertiary Referral Hospitals. RIH has a Level 2 Neonatal Acute Care unit, an expanded imaging department and with a state of the art emergency trauma unit is also designated as a trauma centre. Kamloops is home to a 47 bed Tertiary Psychiatric Facility located on the Royal Inland Hospital campus.

This position provides pharmacy services to patients in the acute care and residential care environment. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, this position assesses and recommends individualized treatments. Acts as the primary resource for drug information, education and provides expert advice to health care professionals. Monitors drug prescribing, drug distribution and drug therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal and economic use of drugs. Maintains workload records and statistics.
Shifts are rotating days and evenings; varing from 07:00 to 16:00; 07:30 to 16:30; 09:00 to 18:00; with rotating days off.

Qualifications

Baccalaureate Degree in Pharmacy and current licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.

Completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or a combination of at least one year of hospital experience and advanced education courses.

Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.
